About the role

Supply Nation is recruiting for a Senior Relationship Manager in Sydney. This is a full-time role (38 hours a week) with potential to work from home up to 2 days a week.

Reporting to the Head of Members Services, the Senior Relationship Manager is responsible for leading a team of 3-4 geographically dispersed staff. Working within an assigned region, the Senior Relationship Manager and their team are responsible for providing support and assistance to corporate, government and not-for-profit members, to increase their level of business activity with Indigenous businesses. The role is also responsible for identifying opportunities to broaden members' Indigenous engagement beyond procurement.

The Senior Relationship Manager provides a key point of connection between Supply Nation member organisations and the Indigenous businesses that provide goods or services to fulfil those organisations’ procurement requirements.

The Senior Relationship Manager is responsible for attending occasional after-hours meetings and events, and interstate travel may also be required.

About you

You have good knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Islander history and its impact on and the issues facing contemporary Australian Indigenous societies and cultures.

You have demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships including with small to medium size businesses and those from culturally diverse backgrounds. You have experience in government procurement processes or the ability to attain this knowledge quickly and with ease.

You have effective oral and written communication skills and are able to adjust your communication style to reflect the audience and information being delivered. You are comfortable engaging with all levels of an organisation, including those in senior executive roles.

You have experience in managing small teams of high performing staff and have the ability to meet performance targets on time and within budget. You have a commitment to continuous learning, delivering and reflecting positively to feedback seeing this as an opportunity for personal and professional growth.

Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures and the issues impacting Indigenous Australians in business.

Demonstrated experience working with large corporate organisations and knowledge and/or ability to interpret government Indigenous procurement policies.

Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of business from C-suite to operations.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of small to medium business enterprise.

Digital competence in tools including Salesforce and Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook and SharePoint).

Experience leading a team.

Demonstrated high level oral and written communication, analytical and liaison skills.

Ability to assess the appropriate information to provide, and/or services to refer with little direction.

Demonstrated experience in supporting strong working relationships both internally and externally.

High-level administrative and communication skills including effective time management and prioritisation skills, the ability to prepare reports, business letters and general correspondence.

Well-developed interpersonal skills demonstrating a positive approach to prompt and responsive customer service and managing expectations of Supply Nation members, partners and suppliers.

Demonstrated knowledge (or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge) of different business models and company structures.

Ability to learn and work with procurement teams (previous experience with procurement teams is desirable).

Current driver's license.
