Role Description

This is a full-time office based role for a Trainee Production Estimator at Extend a Home Constructions Pty Ltd at our office at 100 Queens Road. Five Dock in Sydney, NSW. The Trainee Production Estimator will be responsible for assisting in estimating costs, developing project timelines, coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors, and ensuring smooth project execution. This role offers hands-on experience in the construction industry.

Job Tasks – Estimating and Construction skills required

· Send out plans for quoting and receive back quotes and keep records.

· Receive engineer’s plan and cost any variations.

· Liaise with suppliers and trades and keep prices up to date / source out new suppliers.

· Conversion of sales estimate to production estimate.

· Produce purchase orders for construction from Construction estimate

Approve contractor invoices against purchase orders.

· Compile Supervisor and Carpenter site files.

· Work out material quantities required and place orders for each job.

· Promptly cost any site variations that arise during construction.

· Ability to liaise with Clients in a pleasant and sometimes firm manner.

· Ability to work with a close knit team and adhere to systems and team culture.

· An ability to think outside the square and attention to detail.

· Ability to relieve Supervisor and run jobs occasionally.

Qualifications

Strong numerical and analytical skills

Knowledge of building materials and construction processes

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions

Attention to detail and accuracy in estimating project costs

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Miscrosoft Word and Buildertrend construction software

Preferably a carpentry backcground in First Floor Home additions

A degree or certification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field is a plus
