About the role

The Non-Government Schools Regulatory Unit is searching for high-achieving individuals who are strong team players to support the unit as a Compliance and Policy Operations Officer.

This role supports team members who undertake reviews into Non-Government School non-compliance matters and prepares documents as part of a secretariat function to the Non-Government Schools Not-For-Profit Advisory Committee.

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with NESA’s management of ‘Non-government schools’ compliance with NSW Education Act 1990, including the administration of compliance plans, activities, and investigations.
  • Undertaking research, analysing and synthesising relevant material to support NESA’s input, development and review of compliance policy and frameworks.
  • Providing support to the collaborative production of timely and accurate materials for consideration by the Non-Government Schools Not-For-Profit Advisory Committee.
  • Maintaining information systems, preparing high quality briefings, correspondence and other documents in a timely fashion, and supporting the Manager and team members in the team’s role as Secretariat for the Advisory Committee.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong prioritisation skills both on an individual level and as a team collaborator, especially in managing competing tasks and responsibilities.
  • Experience in supporting the work of a team to produce correspondence and materials, meeting key deadlines and milestones.
  • High capability in managing and analysing sensitive and complex data and information.

Essential Criteria:

  • Working with children check clearance for paid employment (prior to commencement, not required at the application stage)
