Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Project Support Officer - QUEST Hub to join School of Chemistry and Physics, Faculty of Science.

The Project Support Officer will oversee the day-to-day operations of the QUT Energy Storage Research Group (ESRG) and the QUEST Hub project . This will include the coordination and management of financial and administrative processes including travel, human resources, finance, research project support, committees/meetings and engagement activities, and the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, systems and processes to effectively support the research team. The Project Support Officer will work with the Director and Centre Manager of the research group to ensure high quality, professional on-site project support for the project team and project partners.

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a degree in conjunction with subsequent relevant experience.
  2. Demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate and lead administrative functions across a large and complex organisation, using a sound understanding of university research projects, post-award project administration and budget administration to achieve desired business outcomes aligned to organisational objectives and deadlines.
  3. Strong digital literacy skills with demonstrated experience in the Microsoft 365 environment (SharePoint admin or similar) and the Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to quickly adapt to other products and technologies.
  4. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to negotiate good outcomes with internal and multiple external stakeholders where required.
  5. Demonstrated interpersonal and written communication skills showing the ability to connect and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and work effectively within a team.
