Fantastic opportunity for an experienced Occupational Rehabilitation specialist to work within a friendly, close-knit team of experienced occupational rehabilitation specialists to assist our work injured employees return to work- no billable hours!
The Senior Return to Work Consultant operates in a state-wide Injury Management function that provides effective and efficient vocational rehabilitation and injury management consultation services to injured employees and worksites within a medical/legal, industrial, and public sector environment.
The role involves:
Provision of early intervention services prior to claim lodgement and management of all high-risk claims for compensation referred for return to work assistance.
Development, implementation and evaluation of return-to-work goals, objectives and plans in collaboration with injured employees, treating practitioners and worksite managers that are outcome focused and process driven and in keeping with the department's obligations around suitable employment.
Development and coordination of return-to-work documentation and placement processes, including resume preparation, job matching, canvassing for placements internal and external to the department, attending interviews to determine successful work placements.
Provision of expert advice, consultation, and assistance to departmental personnel in rehabilitation standards, obligations, legislative requirements, injury management principles and processes through formal and informal information, advice, and training.
About you:
Return to work planning: Experienced in coordinating and managing vocational rehabilitation cases
Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to build confidence with clients, managers, and professionals
Early intervention: Knowledge of injury risk assessment and commitment to early intervention practices
Task management: Proven ability to manage large caseloads and handle confidential, complex employment matters
Conflict management: Experience in conflict resolution processes
Stakeholder relationships: Ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external partnerships
Technical expertise: Knowledge of Fair Work Act, industrial relations practices, and public sector policies
Qualifications:
Essential: Relevant tertiary qualification in health, psychology, behavioural science, allied health and/ or significant levels of discipline knowledge in workers compensation legislation and demonstrated experience in the application of vocational rehabilitation theory
Desirable: Relevant Post Graduate qualifications or Membership or Registration with Professional Bodies
