Make an impact
at the City of Cockburn.
The City of Cockburn has an exciting future and is committed to delivering outstanding service and achieving our vision of being the best place to be. To support this, we’ve strengthened our ‘one team’ leadership approach and enhanced leadership roles to better serve our community’s needs. This is a unique opportunity for a visionary Service Manager Information, Technology and Customer to lead a team and deliver innovative technology solutions that positively impact our community.
The City
As one of the major coastal cities in Western Australia, Cockburn has it all. With a current population of over 120,000, the City offers an incredible coastline, beautiful beaches and parks, and a growing list of community facilities and employment opportunities.
Our vision of Cockburn, the best place to be helps to shape everything we do, with a focus on delivering for our changing and expanding community. With 24 suburbs, a long history and an exciting future, you’re invited to be part of it all.
About the position
Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO), the Service Manager leads a skilled and passionate team across IT operations, information management, and customer experience. You’ll be responsible for delivering stable, secure, and continually improving infrastructure and systems, while championing a customer-first culture across the organisation.
You’ll work closely with the CIO, internal leaders, and key stakeholders to ensure the City’s technology investments support both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic goals.
This is a leadership role with impact — helping shape how we serve our staff and community in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
About You
You’re a people-first leader who builds strong teams and fosters a safe, high-performing workplace culture. You care deeply about outcomes, both for your team and for the community, and you understand that great leadership is about trust, clarity, and creating space for others to succeed.
You bring experience across one or more areas like IT operations, customer experience, or information management, but you also recognise that you don’t need to be the expert in everything. You lead with humility, and curiosity, leaning on your team’s strengths while focusing on aligning efforts to a clear vision and purpose.
You value culture, communication, and collaboration as highly as technical skills. You know that skills can be developed, but shared values and a strong leadership mindset are foundational. You bring professional judgement, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to inspire people to bring their best every day.
Salary and Benefits
A full time fixed term contract with a competitive remuneration package up to $179,000per annum will be offered based on skills, experience and qualifications.
We’re offering a range of great benefits:
- Generous superannuation (up to 15.5 per cent)
- Professional development opportunities
- Cockburn ARC membership.
