Advocacy for Disability Access and Inclusion (ADAI) are recruiting for the position of Program Facilitator, for the Information Linkages and Capacity Building Program, for an Immediate start.
Advocacy for Disability Access and Inclusion (ADAI) supports individuals living with disability to build their capacity to represent themselves and fully participate in decision making that affects their lives.
Job Title and Role
The successful candidate will be appointed as Program Facilitator, reporting directly to the Team Leader. We are seeking to fill one Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) facilitator position based in Port Augusta, SA. The Program Facilitator will be responsible for delivering the funded Information Linkages and Capacity Building Program to individuals with disability, as well as their families and carers, within their respective region.
ICB Program
Under the general direction of the Team Leader, the ILCB Program Facilitator will perform a range of duties focused on the development and delivery of programs and resources designed to support the rights of individuals with lived experience of disability, as well as their families and carers. The role aims to enhance participants knowledge, empowering them to self-advocate and build capacity. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, community engagement, delivering workshops, stakeholder engagement, peer mentoring, and the identification and creation of relevant materials.
Salary
A contract will be offered to the successful candidate with an immediate start date and a duration through to 30 June 2027, commencing at SCHADS Award Level 3.1.
Hours
Hours of work are 76 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm.
Essential Requirements
Ability to identify the needs of people with disability, their families and carers and determine what information or resources are required to support them to build capacity.
Ability to identify, develop and maintain constructive relationships with key stakeholders.
Good understanding of the services available for people with disability in the rural and regional areas.
Competent in planning, facilitating, and delivering activities/workshops to groups with confidence.
Competent in working both independently and collaboratively, while closely connecting with relevant advocates to provide support to community members in the region.
High level written and oral communication skills.
Good computer skills.
The successful applicants will be required to have a Working with Children and Working with Vulnerable Persons clearance prior to commencing employment.
Current Australian issued Driver's Licence (equivalent to a minimum class C South Australian Licence)
Ability to travel to facilitate the delivery of the ICB Program in their respective region.
Willingness to stay overnight as required for program delivery in remote areas, with occasional travel to Adelaide.
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to maintain a consistent professional image in the workplace, adhering to appropriate dress and behaviour standards in a professional environment.
