My client is an integrated financial advisory and chartered accountancy firm. They offer personalised accounting and taxation services to high-net-worth individuals, families, SMEs, and unlisted public companies. The accounting arm of the business consists of 14 staff, with another 20 working in the financial planning business.
The firm has a 30+ years history in the market, and was originally founded by an Ex-Big 4 Partner. The team has had excellent longevity and have grown their current leadership team from within over the past 15 years.
They are now on the lookout for a Business Services Supervisor to Manager candidate to join their team. This position will report into a down-to-earth and friendly Director who started his career in mid-tier firms before moving into the business 10 years ago.
You will be providing both compliance and advisory services to a portfolio of clients, managing client communication, assisting the Director on more complex projects, and providing guidance and mentorship to other Accountants within the team. The firm has a small team of offshore accountants based in India who help support the delivery of compliance work.
The business has a loyal and high-profile clients base that continues to grow, they are paperless and utilise best practice technology (using XPM as a practice software and Xero for their clients) and promote a balanced and flexible work environment. As a result, they have been able to attract and retain high-calibre staff (many from larger practices). In the last 4-5 years they have very rarely had to recruit.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking for greater agency and ownership in their role. While also benefitting from a more intimate, flexible, and supportive environment.
Their office is based in the CBD and they offer 2 days per week of your choice from home - upon commencement.
Key duties include:
Overseeing compliance for companies, trusts, individuals, partnerships, and SMSFs
Managing client relationship and responding to their queries
Reviewing the work of other accountants and offshore staff, and offering guidance on more complex tax and advisory issues
Undertaking tax research
Managing workflow and billing with the Director
Liaising with the ATO and other regulatory bodies
Engaging with external tax experts as required for client needs
The ideal candidate will possess:
CA /CPA qualification (or be working towards)
6 + years experience in public practice dealing with a wide variety of clientele
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience using cloud accounting software (Xero, MYOB, Class, etc)
