Hear and Say is a Queensland wide provider of speech pathology and audiology services. We operate state-wide and support people of all ages - from newborn babies, to toddlers, school-age children, and adults.
An exceptional opportunity currently exists for a suitably experienced and motivated individual to join us in the role of Team Leader - Speech Pathology, to play a key role in expanding and enhancing our speech pathology services across Queensland.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a growing team, manage a clinical caseload, and contribute to strategic service development across a statewide organisation making life-changing impact.
This is a permanent full-time role (38 hours per week) which can be based in Brisbane or any of our Hear and Say centers in Queensland with the ability to travel (in line with the company Travel Policy) a minimum of 2 to 4 times a year to relevant sites where direct reports are located and other sites to support program growth and staffing/operational needs.
Position overview
As a Senior Speech Pathologist and Team Leader, you will work collaboratively with the Head of Listening and Spoken Language to grow and continuously improve our speech pathology services. You will also provide high-quality, client-centered care to a mixed caseload, including clients with a range of communication challenges.
The role includes mentoring and supervising staff, managing clinical operations, and contributing to the strategic development of speech pathology services in new and existing locations, including regional and telehealth services.
Key role functions
Clinical Service Delivery:
Manage an active clinical caseload, delivering assessments, intervention, therapy services and reporting to clients of all ages.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and adhere to best-practice standards and governance requirements.
Liaise with families, medical professionals, and allied health colleagues to deliver collaborative care.
Leadership & Program Development:
Supervise and support a team of speech pathologists to ensure high clinical standards, performance, and professional development.
Assist in planning and implementing the expansion of speech pathology services across locations, including new centers and telehealth.
Monitor team KPIs and collaborate on budget, service delivery models, and recruitment.
Culture & Continuous Improvement:
Champion a caring, inclusive and client-centered culture.
Contribute to service innovation, policy development, and the continuous improvement of clinical programs.
Support team development, mentoring, and succession planning.
What we are looking for
The successful candidate will possess:
Demonstrated significant experience working as either a senior speech pathologist or Team Leader, managing a diverse mixed speech pathology caseload (including complex cases), to ensure good clinical outcomes and provide evidence-based interventions.
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, support, and supervise a team with a positive influence on colleagues and overall client experience, along with demonstrated ability to mentor and develop staff and provide quality on-the-job training.
The drive and personal values to support our clients through client-centred practice which aligns with our organisation strategy, purpose and values, and a demonstrated passion for helping children would be highly preferred.

Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children, carers, internal and external stakeholders, meticulous attention to detail, very good time management, organisational and administrative skills and the ability to thrive in a busy and dynamic work environment with a proven ability to work autonomously and use sound judgement whilst working under pressure.
Mandatory requirements of this role include-
1. Full member of Speech Pathology Australia, including current Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist qualification.
2. Eligibility to clear probity checks including disability worker screening and working with children check (Blue Card / Yellow Card).
3. Valid open drivers license with the ability and willingness to travel (2-4 times per year) to support program growth and staff development.
