The Company

Our client is seeking a Payroll Officer to join their team based in Sydney CBD. This is a standalone position, responsible for end to end payroll. We are looking for someone with hands on payroll experience who is available to start immediately.

The Role

• End-to-end processing of weekly and fortnightly payroll
• Manage employee records, tax file numbers, superannuation, and leave accruals
• Interpret and apply relevant Awards, EBAs, and Fair Work legislation
• Ensure all payments are compliant with ATO, Fair Work, and superannuation requirements
• Process new hires, terminations, redundancies, and calculate final pays
• Respond to payroll queries from staff in a professional and timely manner
• Collaborate closely with HR and Finance to improve payroll processes and ensure compliance

To be considered for the position

• Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a payroll role, ideally in a multi-state or award-covered environment
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and ATO reporting obligations
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
• Proficient in Excel and confident working with spreadsheets and data files
