Payroll Officer – 3-Month Contract | Immediate Start

A dynamic opportunity exists for a capable Payroll Officer to step into a full-function role with an organisation recognised for its strong culture and ongoing growth. Based in Sydney’s CBD, just a short walk from Central Station, this is a 3-month contract with the potential for a permanent position.

The Role

This role suits someone confident in end-to-end payroll processing across both Australia and New Zealand. Working five days per week from the office, you will manage a full payroll cycle with the support of a collaborative finance and HR team.

Key Responsibilities

• Fortnightly payroll processing for Australian and NZ staff
  
  
• End-to-end data management in the payroll system (Preceda experience ideal but not essential)
  
  
• Calculate and process termination payments
  
  
• Handle payroll queries across multiple departments
  
  
• Superannuation and payroll tax calculations and submissions
  
  
• Accurate input of employee changes, new starters and commission payments
  
  
• Payroll variance investigation and issue resolution
  
  
• Regular and ad hoc reporting
  
  

Ideal Candidate Profile

You’ll bring proven experience in high-volume payroll and a thorough understanding of local legislation. You thrive in a fast-paced setting, take ownership of your work, and communicate well with a range of stakeholders.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in full-function payroll roles
  
  
• Exposure to both Australian and New Zealand payroll highly desirable
  
  
• Strong data accuracy and attention to detail
  
  
• Intermediate Excel skills
  
  
• Experience using Preceda is advantageous but not essential
