About the role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Psychologist to join our team at Old Orchard Primary School as well as working one day at Blackburn Primary School and Blackburn Lake Primary School in Blackburn and Blackburn North, Victoria. This is a part-time opportunity to work closely with students, families and staff to support the mental health and wellbeing of our school community.

What you'll be doing

Conducting psychological assessments and developing individualised intervention plans for students

Providing evidence-based counselling and therapy to support students with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs

Collaborating with teachers, parents and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support

Delivering group programs and workshops on topics such as resilience, emotional regulation and positive mental health

Contributing to the development and implementation of the school's mental health and wellbeing strategy

Maintaining detailed case notes and records in line with professional and legal requirements

What we're looking for

Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Significant experience working with children and adolescents in an educational or clinical setting

Strong therapeutic skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and families

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Proficiency in evidence-based psychological approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and play-based interventions

A deep understanding of child and adolescent development, as well as the unique challenges faced by students in a primary school setting
