About Liquor & Gaming NSW

We are at the pointy end of industry supervision for the liquor, gaming, wagering, casino and registered club sectors in NSW. If you want a seat at the table, whether we’re reviewing the latest facial recognition technology; advising Government on gambling reform policy; developing initiatives to increase live music venues and festivals; or investigating unlawful liquor or gambling inducement practices, we want to talk to you.

We’re enabling vibrant and dynamic hospitality and racing environments that are safe and responsible, and our regulatory efforts are evidenced-informed, coordinated, and targeted to where the risks are greatest.

Our work is as diverse as our people and the NSW communities we serve. See what it’s like to work with us!

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Coordinator Audit & Assurance to lead the development and implementation of regulatory audit and assurance programs across a diverse portfolio of regulated entities.

In this influential role, you will coordinate high-impact audit activities that promote compliance, strengthen regulatory practices, and support continuous improvement in audit capability and culture across the branch.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and delivery of audit and assurance programs aligned with Hospitality & Racing’s regulatory objectives.

Ensure the accuracy and quality of audit documentation, including proposals, plans, working papers, and reports.

Provide expert advice to inform policy development and regulatory strategy.

Engage and consult with internal and external stakeholders to influence outcomes and ensure effective regulatory operations.

Monitor local and international trends to identify opportunities for innovation in audit practices.

Prepare strategic documents including operational frameworks, committee papers, and policy briefings.

Lead research and analysis on complex issues, identifying risks and developing evidence-based strategies.

Drive a proactive culture of compliance and assurance through effective leadership and stakeholder engagement.

About You:

You are a results-driven leader with a strong background in regulation, capable of operating in dynamic, sensitive, and high-stakes environments. You bring:

Extensive experience leading and evaluating regulatory audit and assurance programs.

A proven track record in driving productivity and delivering innovative audit systems and solutions.

Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels.

Demonstrated leadership capability in providing strategic, expert advice in complex regulatory environments.

If you're a strategic thinker with a passion for regulatory audits, stakeholder engagement, and driving best practice in compliance across high-profile sectors, we’d love to hear from you!
