About the Team
The Media Branch is at the forefront of public engagement for this Federal Agency. The team plays a vital role in driving media relations, producing compelling stories, responding to media enquiries, and showcasing the real-life impact of the Agency on participants across the country.

About the Role
As an APS6 Senior Media Officer, you'll be at the heart of the Agency's media efforts, using your communication expertise to deliver high-impact media strategies and campaigns. You'll respond to fast-moving media issues, craft compelling narratives, and promote positive stories that shine a light on the lives

What You'll Be Doing

• Identifying and acting on opportunities to positively promote the Agency
• Developing and pitching engaging media content for TV, radio, print, online and social channels.
• Building media packages that showcase participant stories and Scheme outcomes.
• Drafting media releases, talking points, and executive communications.
• Collaborating with stakeholders across the Agency and government to deliver strategic media campaigns.
• Monitoring media risks and supporting the Agency's media response strategy, including participation in a rotational on-call roster.
• Measuring and analysing media impact, applying insights to continually improve engagement.

About You
You are a strategic thinker and a confident communicator with a passion for public service and storytelling. You excel in high-pressure environments, understand the media landscape inside-out, and can translate complex policy into relatable content. You bring creativity, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and a keen eye for reputation management.

• Experience in government or ministerial media is highly regarded, as is a strong understanding of disability and inclusion.
