Key Responsibilities
Assessing the Speech and language based needs of NDIS Participants of all ages
Delivering evidence-based speech pathology intervention across a range of service areas including speech, language, fluency, feeding, augmentative, and alternative communication (dysphagia/aphasia) as well as social skills.
Participating in ongoing professional development and work collaboratively with other therapy staff and the Therapy Circles Team.
Implement person-centered planning practices and enhance the skills and knowledge of families and those who support and care for persons with disability.
Provide Discipline specific Reports as per NDIS requirements
Identify opportunities and participate in quality improvement activities in consultation with other staff members of My Way Community Alliance.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Relevant tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology.
Current Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) membership.
Experience working with people with a disability and community setting.
Willingness to travel around the Melbourne metropolitan area (either Western or Eastern Suburbs - our offices are in Werribee, Sunshine and Dandenong) and work with all age groups as required. Our case load is around 90% paediatric.
Speaking more than one language is a bonus, but not a requirement unless for a specific participant.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Experience
High level interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Strong written and computer skills for the creation of plans, programs, reports, correspondence, and other documents.
Understanding and commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous improvement.
