The Opportunity

At UniSC, our Strategic Procurement & Contracts Advisor supports a wide range of stakeholders to make informed, value driven decisions, from early planning through to supplier performance and everything in between. You’ll lead sourcing and contracting activities, guide best practice procurement and help shape processes that are clear, effective and future focused. It’s a great opportunity to build strong relationships, influence positive change and contribute to meaningful outcomes across the university.
You will
- lead procurement and contract activities from planning to management, delivering value, compliance and strong results;
- collaborate with stakeholders to shape practical solutions that meet business needs, manage risk and strengthen supplier relationships; and
- champion good procurement practice through continuous improvement and consistent, effective processes across the University.

You’re confident leading sourcing and contracting activities, navigating complex requirements, and translating business needs into clear, commercially sound outcomes. You will possess:
- Experience in procurement or commercial advisory roles within structured, process-driven environments.
- A solid understanding of procurement strategies, sourcing, and contract management, with a focus on creating value and managing risk.
- A collaborative approach to business partnering, with a track record of building positive relationships and working effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills for coordinating priorities, improving processes and keeping things on track, even when timelines are tight.
- A practical mindset and problem-solving skills, with an eye for improving outcomes and lifting procurement practices.
- Confidence working with procurement and contract management systems, and the ability to support reporting and analysis using Excel or similar tools.
- Clear and professional communication skills, with the ability to prepare accurate procurement documents, contracts and reports, and engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Experience in the higher education sector, and an understanding of Queensland Procurement Policy.
