Position Details:
● Job Title: Chef
● Employment Type: Full-Time
● Weekly Hours: 38 hours
● Salary Range: $77,000 - $80,000 per annum (Plus Super)
Key Responsibilities:
As a Chef at Suppeto Collective, you will play a key role in maintaining the excellence of our kitchen operations. Your responsibilities will include:
● Menu Planning: Creating innovative menus that balance quality, cost-efficiency, and seasonal ingredients.
● Cost Management: Estimating food and labor costs and ensuring profitability through smart budgeting and procurement.
● Food Ordering: Ensuring timely and efficient ordering of fresh and high-quality ingredients.
● Quality Assurance: Overseeing food preparation and presentation to maintain consistency and high standards.
● Collaboration: Working closely with Managers, Dietitians, kitchen, and wait staff to ensure smooth and effective operations.
● Culinary Techniques: Demonstrating cooking techniques, providing training and guidance to the kitchen team.
● Compliance & Hygiene: Enforcing food safety standards and hygiene regulations in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
● Staff Management: Selecting, training, and leading kitchen staff to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.
● Food Preservation: Managing the freezing, storage, and preservation of food items to minimize waste and maximize freshness.
Skills & Experience:
We are looking for a candidate with the following:
● Previous Kitchen Experience: Must have proven experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
● Ability to Work Under Pressure: Thrive in a busy kitchen, delivering quality food while meeting time-sensitive demands.
● Proximity & Transport: Candidates should live within a comfortable distance from Suppeto Collective or have reliable transport.
● Professional Experience: At Least 2 to 3 years of experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role is essential for selection.
Qualifications:
● Education Requirement: Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management or a higher qualification or similar qualification.
