Retail Store Manager - Jasper Coffee Fitzroy

We are looking for an energetic manager to organise daily operations and help motivate our team to provide excellent customer service. Ultimately, you will help increase profitability, boost customer experience and help grow our Café to remain the destination for great coffee in Fitzroy.

At Jasper, we pride ourselves on sustainability to shape our business practices and develop economic and social benefits with producers via our Fairtrade and Organic coffee and other products.

Our store has an extensive range of coffee beans, coffee equipment and accessories, together with a huge range of chocolates and homewares from all around the world.

This is an amazing opportunity for someone to add value to our already busy team. Our successful Store Managers can demonstrate the following skills and experience.

• Experience in a similar management role of a café or retail outlet. Specialty Coffee experience viewed upon favourably.
• Enjoy coaching and leading to bring out the best in your team.
• Have the ability to stay calm under pressure in a busy environment.
• Be customer-focused and assist in creating a positive, professional environment for all customers.
• Be a proactive fast learner able to manage change when necessary.
• Experience in rostering, COGS control, labour control and achieving sales targets.
• Able to work a rotating roster including alternate weekends.
• LASTLY and probably most importantly… have a passion for coffee.

What your week will look like:

• Managing the team and rosters
• Day-to-day café operations
• Team training and development
• Ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels
• Expense & revenue monitoring in conjunction with Retail Area Manager
• Making and Drinking amazing coffee, plus experimenting with over 40 different coffees.
• Learning all about coffee-making equipment, homewares & how to sell it.
