About the Role
Flinders University is seeking an emerging leader in Early Childhood Education (ECE) to join our College of Education, Psychology and Social Work. This full-time, continuing position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic teaching and research environment dedicated to shaping the future of ECE.
Early Childhood Education is a rapidly expanding area of Education, and the University wishes to engage an experienced educator who will provide academic leadership into our ECE topics and courses, and who will also lead high-quality research into the area.

About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate their extensive teaching experience as well as their history of quality research outputs. The ideal candidate will have a specialisation or expertise in at least one area connected to ECE, such as numeracy and mathematics, STEM and/or reading & literacy.
The successful candidate will also clearly demonstrate the following capabilities.
- Completion of a PhD, or equivalent qualification.
- Significant track record and demonstrated evidence of successful relevant teaching experience at tertiary level, including responsibility for topic coordination, course coordination and curriculum design
- Demonstrated evidence of a strong research track record (for career stage) in an area aligned with research strengths in Teaching and Learning and preferably aligned to Early Childhood Education, including evidence of sustained high-quality publications and attraction of external competitive grants.
- Demonstrated understanding of the nexus between teaching and learning, research and scholarship.
- Demonstrated experience providing leadership in the area of curriculum reviews and internal and external accreditation activities.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to establish effective relationships with staff, students and industry nationally and/or internationally.
- Demonstrated experience and innovation using e-learning platforms for teaching purposes.
