As a Control and Automation Technician, you’ll be instrumental in supporting the performance and reliability of Re.Group’s cutting-edge optical sorting and other advanced technologies. Based at our Eight Mile Plains site, this role offers national travel and hands-on technical work across our growing network of advanced recycling facilities. It's an exciting opportunity to work in a future-focused industry where the harvesting and use of data, smart sensing and AI technologies is rapidly growing.
About the role:
Travel across Australia (and potentially New Zealand) on a rotating schedule – we approximate at least half of your time will be spent visiting sites
Provide technical support and maintenance for optical sorting and automation systems
Troubleshoot hardware and process issues to reduce downtime and improve efficiency
Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs
Develop close relationships with specialist technology suppliers to get the most out of their equipment
Contribute to the design and commissioning of new facilities and control systems
Work cross-functionally with engineering, project and operations teams
Contribute to smarter ways of capturing and utilising data to improve our operations
About you:
Electrical, electronic or controls trade qualification (TAFE Certificate or Qualified Electrician)
Background in automation, control systems, or instrumentation
Hands-on experience with industrial machinery and fault-finding
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently while also collaborating within teams
Willingness and ability to travel nationally on a flexible roster
Experience with optical sorting systems is highly regarded but not essential
