As a key member of our Youth, Housing and Southwest Directorate, you’ll play a pivotal role in strengthening evidence-based practice across housing and homelessness services in the Barwon and Southwest regions. This role is about more than leadership—it’s about driving innovation, embedding quality frameworks, and building practitioner capability to improve outcomes for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. About the Role
As a Housing and Homelessness Practice Development Lead, you will:
- Champion evidence-based, person-centered practice across Youth and Adult Housing Services
- Evaluate and enhance service delivery using local, national, and international data
- Lead the integration of innovative frameworks and policies into daily practice
- Support practitioner capability through coaching, training, and resource development
Position Details
- Fixed term position until 30 June 2026
- 0.5 FTE working 20 hours per week
- $115,319 (pro-rata) p/a + Super + Salary Packaging

What We're Looking For
We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in related discipline (eg Social Work, Psychology, Welfare Studies) and experience in Case Management in the Community Services sector and/or Housing and Homelessness Services.
- Strong leadership within complex service environments, balancing support and accountability to drive positive outcomes.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including high-quality report writing, to ensure program compliance and service excellence.
- Evidence of proficiency in data recording systems specific to the program area.
- Knowledge and understanding of the purpose and expectations of the Victorian Child Safe Standards and demonstrated commitment to contributing to a child safe organisation in both practice and culture.
- Demonstrated ability to develop practical tools and resources for staff, complemented by mentoring and coaching to support effective management and compliance.
- Sound knowledge and experience in working with risk management and compliance frameworks.
