About the Business Unit:

Corrections Victoria is a business unit of the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). Corrections Victoria's vision is ‘Safer prisons, safer people, safer communities'. The Beechworth Correctional Centre is a minimum-security facility with a focus on preparing individuals for release and successful reintegration back into society. It offers various working industries, giving individuals the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that will effectively link them to employment upon release. When not engaged in work, the people in our care attend rehabilitative programs to address their offending behaviour, engage in education and visits with many also engaging in recreation and community assistance programs.

About the Role:

The Executive and Operational Services Supervisor is responsible for providing high level executive support to the General Manager, members of the Senior Management Team and other committees when required.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Providing high-level confidential executive support in a sensitive environment
  • Liaising with senior managers, staff members, other departments, agency representatives, and community groups, providing information and assistance and/or referral to appropriate staff members
  • Investigating various issues, preparing briefing papers and discussion papers including FOI requests, Ministerial replies, and requests from the public

About You:

As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Well developed computer literacy
  • The ability to resolve issues through deep understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines - and the initiative to act if said guidelines are not available
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to liaise with senior management and an ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Relevant previous experience, or Certificate III in Business Administration will be highly regarded.
