Miles Franklin Out of School Hours Care - MFOSHC
Educator - Casual Positions 1st, 2nd Qualified positions.
Are you passionate about fostering positive and engaging experiences for children outside of school hours? Join our dynamic team as an Outside School Hours Care Educator.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development and Implementation of Educational and Leisure based programs in accordance with the National Quality Framework.
Foster positive and inclusive environments for children and fellow educators.
Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all children at all times.
Act as a role model for children.
Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with children, educators, families and the greater school community.
Participate in staff meetings and professional development as required.
Engage with parents to provide insights into children’s progress and engagement in the program.
Educator Requirements:
At least 18 years of Age.
Hold a current Working with Vulnerable Peoples card or ability to obtain one prior to commencement.
The ability to interact and communicate well with children/ educators/ team leaders and build positive relationships with families.
Ability to work with and contribute to a team.
Ability to follow directions and use own initiative.
Dedicated to providing high quality care in an OSHC environment.
Previous experience and sound knowledge or willingness to learn the My Time Our Place and the National Quality Framework.
In addition to the requirements listed above, Qualified Educators are also required:
To meet the ACECQA criteria for 1st or 2nd qualified Educator (experience working with school aged children and hold a diploma or degree or are working towards its completion).
Qualifications highly regarded include:
Diploma of School Aged Education and Care, Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, Degree in Primary Education or Early Childhood Studies.
Educators with experience working with children with additional needs will be highly regarded.

The Educator Role
MFOSHC Educators will work closely with and be supported by our Directorship team and experienced Team Leaders in the delivery of an education and care based program for children attending Miles Franklin Primary School in Kindergarten to Yr6. This role is a Casual position. Shifts are allocated on a fortnightly roster and pay cycle, however you may be asked to work at short notice from time to time. Ideally candidates will have full availability especially for the afternoon sessions.
Salary is as per the Children’s Services Award 2010 – level dependant on experience and qualifications.

MFOSHC is a not for profit Out of School Hours Care organisation providing education and care, family support and professional development services for the school and the community. MFOSHC’s operating hours are 7:30am – 9:00am and 3:00pm – 6:00pm Monday to Friday during the school term and between the hours of 7:30am and 6:00pm Monday to Friday during the ACT School Holidays. We offer a high standard of education and care to children and families through respectful and responsive interactions and strong relationships in a safe and inclusive environment.
MFOSHC is located at Miles Franklin Primary School in Alderman Street Evatt ACT and is operated by the Miles Franklin P&C Association.
