Multiple high-impact Senior Business Analyst roles are now available with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA). These contracts are part of a multi-project transformation program with a strong focus on legislative reform, regulatory change, and digital service improvement.

Start from July 2025, with flexibility around commencement dates based on project kick-off timelines.

A hybrid working arrangement, with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, is preferred.

Key Role Details

• Federal government client – AMSA
• 12-month initial contract + 2 x 12-month extension options
• Maximum 40 hours per week
• Competitive hourly rates: $100 to $130/hr + GST
• Hybrid work model: Canberra-based role, with regular onsite collaboration required
• Security: Must be able to obtain Baseline Clearance
• Open to Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents only

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct business analysis and design business solutions aligned to legislative and regulatory reforms
• Create high-level and detailed functional and non-functional requirements
• Map business processes, user journeys, and information flows
• Act as the conduit between business units, project teams, and technical stakeholders
• Support solution delivery in line with digital transformation initiatives
• Contribute to IT continuous improvement and support documentation development

Essential Requirements

To be considered, you must meet all of the following:

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Business Analyst on federal or state government projects
• Strong experience in technical writing, including requirements, process maps, and guidelines
• Demonstrated communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Business Analyst certification aligned to recognised industry standards
• Experience working on solutions driven by legislative or regulatory change
• Prior experience in vessel, road, air or maritime safety, or similar regulatory environments

Desirable Experience (Highly regarded but not essential)

• Business analysis experience within emergency, incident, or first responder services
• Contribution to business blueprinting or outcome-focused non-technical documentation
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps and agile methodologies, including facilitating scrums
• Experience with Dynamics 365, SmartIQ, HTML forms, identity services, or digital portals
