About Us
At Westerly Youth Clinic, we’re passionate about supporting the health and wellbeing of young people aged 10 to 24. Led by specialist paediatrician Dr Grant Ferguson, our clinic is based in the heart of Claremont and offers a friendly, modern and welcoming environment. We provide care that’s thoughtful, evidence-based, and tailored specifically for adolescents and young adults.
Our approach is simple: we understand young people, and we care deeply about making healthcare accessible, safe and supportive. We’re a small team, and we work closely together to provide a calm and respectful experience for every patient and family who walks through our doors.
About the Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Entry-Level Medical Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis (2–3 days per week). This is a perfect opportunity for someone looking to take their first steps into the healthcare space — especially if you love working with people and want to support young people’s health.
You’ll work closely with and be supported by our Lead Receptionist and Practice Manager to ensure the smooth running of front desk and day-to-day administration. You’ll be the first point of contact for our patients, helping to make every visit a positive experience.
Key Responsibilities
Greeting patients and families with warmth and professionalism
Answering phone calls and responding to email enquiries
Scheduling appointments using Cliniko and Snapforms
Processing payments and Medicare claims via Cliniko and Tyro
Maintaining patient confidentiality and accurate records
Supporting administrative processes for clinicians and the wider team
Helping to create a calm, organised and patient-centred environment
What We’re Looking For
We’re after someone who is people-focused, proactive and eager to learn. If you have a strong work ethic, enjoy working as part of a team, and are passionate about providing great service, we’d love to hear from you.
You’ll ideally have:
A friendly, professional, and empathetic manner
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Solid customer service experience (retail/hospitality welcome)
Good computer literacy and willingness to learn new systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, Cliniko)
A genuine interest in adolescent health and wellbeing
Bonus points for:
Previous experience in a medical, dental or allied health clinic
Knowledge of medical terminology
Familiarity with Cliniko, Tyro, or Medicare billing systems
To Be Eligible, You’ll Need To:
Have the right to work permanently in Australia
Provide a valid National Police Clearance (issued within the last 12 months)
Hold a current Working with Children Check or in the process of obtaining one
Why Join Us?
A positive, welcoming, and supportive team culture
Ongoing training and mentorship from experienced staff
A clinic that embraces innovation — we’re always looking for ways technology can enhance our services, improve efficiency, and better support young people’s health
A chance to contribute to meaningful work that directly impacts the lives of adolescents and young adults
How to Apply
If this sounds like the right fit for you, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit your resume and a short cover letter telling us a bit about yourself and why you're interested in the role.
