An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join a dynamic and growth-focused mining company headquartered in Perth CBD, with operations located in Western Australia.

This permanent full-time position is ideal for a commercial finance professional with a passion for financial modelling, investment evaluation, and strategic analysis within the mining sector. The company has grown significantly through recent mergers and acquisitions and continues to pursue both inorganic and organic growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Life-of-mine (LOM) financial models
• Project financing models
• Business and asset valuation models
• Strategic options modelling
• Group corporate cash flow forecasting
• Capital management and cost of capital analysis (including WACC and CAPM)

• M&A opportunities
• Divestments
• Capital investment assessments
• Sensitivity and scenario analysis using DCF and benchmarking techniques

• Business case evaluation using NPV / DCF / IRR
• Post-implementation reviews of major capex projects
• Continuous business improvement assessments

• Reporting directly to the CFO
• Supporting the Financial Controller on accounting tasks including month-end processes and statutory reporting

• Development and maintenance of detailed financial models, including:
  
• Valuation modelling and financial due diligence for:
  
• Performance analysis of capital and operational expenditure, including:
  
• Development of scenario-based models and internal case studies
  
  
• Preparation of presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders
  
  
• Monitoring and reporting on key business and operational performance indicators (KPIs)
  
  
• Supporting compliance with internal governance, security, confidentiality, and trading policies
  
  
• Collaborating closely with senior executives, including:
  
• Ad hoc duties as required
  
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience in a similar Business Analyst / Commercial Analyst role, ideally within the mining sector
• Experience multi-commodity or broader resources exposure is welcome
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce is essential
• CFA qualification preferred, though CPA or CA will also be considered
• High-level proficiency in financial modelling, Excel, and financial analysis tools
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience interacting with executive teams and external stakeholders
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Sound commercial acumen and a strategic mindset
• Full Australian working rights required
