About the role
The Accounts Payable & Receivable Officer role is responsible for the accounts payable and receivable functions to support the overall finance operations of the business. This includes ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections. The position also supports the finance team with month-end and year end tasks, reconciliations and vehicle allocations.
Duties Include:
End to End Accounts Payable, including processing and coding invoices, purchase orders, payment runs etc in a timely manner.
End to End Accounts Receivable, including generating customer invoices/statements and debtor follow ups.
Maintaining the Motor Vehicle Register, manage the fuel cards and toll accounts, Roadside Assist, vehicle registration and insurance renewals.
Daily bank reconciliation against invoices, credit cards, accounts and ensure they are coded and allocated correctly.
Prepare monthly reconciliations/analysis for accounts payable, accounts receivable and stocktakes.
Follow up all accounts receivable and payable related enquiries.
Coding and processing of Creditor invoices in relation to Import/Export.
Reconciliation processing of:
Fuel / Toll accounts
Visa Card statements
Assist with month-end and year-end reporting.
Maintaining Finance Procedures and provide training on correct processes where required.
Provide general support to the finance team as required.
What we're looking for:
Previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Finance Assistant and/or Bookkeeping role is preferred.
Certificate/Diploma in Bookkeeping or Finance-related study or willingness to work towards.
Strong time management, numeracy and analytical skills with a high attention to detail is a must.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to follow established processes and ask questions to continually learn.
Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of accounting principles and best practice in accounts management is desirable.
