About the Role
We are seeking a Patron Services and Collections Librarian to work at the Dalton McCaughey Library, at the Centre for Theology and Ministry in Parkville, Victoria. This is a full-time ongoing position.
The person in this role is responsible for borrower services and general reference assistance, as well as supporting the planning, management, and maintenance of library facilities, resources, and services. The role also supports information, reference and research assistance both in-person and remotely. The person in this position will play a key part in collection management to ensure the smooth delivery of course reserves and shelf-reading, light cleaning, collection movement and annual stocktake.
The Patron Services and Collections Librarian also provides outreach and programming, and provides research assistance, library instruction, and develops exhibitions in support of classroom teaching.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Sound knowledge of research library functions with the ability to use library management systems, electronic research methods and/or technologies, and an understanding of library standards, classification systems and collection management best practice.
- A tertiary degree in library information management essential including ALIA membership
- Qualifications in humanities and/or theology may be an advantage
- At least three years’ experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of the Uniting Church and Christian theology may be an advantage
The successful candidate will:
- Have a Working with Children Check
- Have the right to work in Australia in a full-time role
- Undergo a national Police Check before commencement
