About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) as an Administration Officer, Aboriginal Education. In this role, your organisational skills and proactive approach will support key projects and initiatives, ensuring the smooth delivery of Aboriginal Education initiatives as part of our broader curriculum reform program. Your expertise will help drive positive educational outcomes for Aboriginal students and communities across NSW. On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:
- Providing high-quality administrative support for Aboriginal Education projects, managing records, correspondence and financial processes.
- Coordinating meetings and events by scheduling, preparing agendas, distributing materials and taking minutes.
- Assisting with travel arrangements, invoicing and payments to facilitate project activities.
- Supporting internal teams by maintaining databases and managing documents while ensuring compliance with organisational policies and processes.
- Engaging with key stakeholders, including government and non-government organisations to coordinate projects and respond to inquiries.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Strong administrative skills, with proven experience in record management, financial processing and event coordination.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, along with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to liaise effectively with a diverse range of internal and external partners.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, contributing to a dynamic team environment.
Essential Requirements
- Aboriginality. Aboriginality is a genuine qualification and authorised in terms of Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
- Applicants must confirm their Aboriginality through written documentation in addition to addressing the pre-screening questions in their application.
