Responsibilities and Duties:
As a Motor Mechanic, your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting accurate diagnostics of engine, electrical, and mechanical systems using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.
Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components, and checking parts.
Carrying out brake system repairs, replacements, and inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
Fitting and balancing tyres, conducting wheel alignments, and checking for tread and pressure-related issues.
Performing suspension and steering assessments and repairs to improve handling and vehicle performance.
Carrying out scheduled logbook servicing in line with manufacturer specifications.
Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
Maintaining accurate service records, adhering to workshop procedures, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
Collaborating with the workshop team to meet service deadlines and maintain high service standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Certificate IV or higher in Automotive Mechanical Technology or a relevant qualification.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a similar environment.
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and within a team.
A genuine passion for the automotive industry and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy workshop.
A current and valid Australian driver's licence.
Familiarity with modern tools, computerised diagnostic equipment, and workshop systems.
