Your Opportunity

In this role you will manage and coordinate a small team and oversee the delivery of Community/Social/Service initiatives to the Community. Working in partnership with Volunteers, Local Residents and Key stakeholders to identify opportunities to strengthen the community services throughout the Southern Downs region.

Term: Full-time

Hours of Work: 72.5 hours per fortnight

Pay Level: $3,565.51 to $3,784.62 per fortnight (Level 6), plus 12% superannuation and 17.5% annual leave loading

In accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award. Pay rate dependant on relevant skills and experience.

Employment Base: Warwick or Stanthorpe, Queensland (will be negotiated with successful candidate)

The complete Key Responsibilities of this role can be found in the Position Description. These include (but are not limited to):

  • Research, coordinate and manage funding applications and funding agreements for community development/service initiatives.
  • Planning, developing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating a range of community/social/service initiatives, as determined by Council or Management. These initiatives will be applied by using community development/service strategies and working collaboratively with key agencies whilst also developing sustainable partnerships.
  • Develop, review and monitor the implementation of policies and strategies related to the arts, culture and community development/service areas of the Council, ensuring the continued relevance of these plans to Council and the community
  • Oversee the provision of advice and assistance to community organisations relating to the identification of appropriate funding sources and preparation of grant applications

What You Will Need

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • The legal right to live and work in Australia
  • A Class C (car) licence or greater is required in this role.
  • Relevant qualifications of at least Certificate level.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor staff to a level of performance necessary to achieve organisational goals.
  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to provide professional advice in a timely manner and effectively communicate with a diverse range of external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to plan, develop, implement and monitor programs, policies and projects including budgeting and procurement.
  • To be able to demonstrate your competence in relation to all of the Selection Criteria as detailed in the Position Description
