About the Opportunity
The QTU is seeking highly organised Administration Officer to temporarily join our team.
Your regular tasks will include:
Being the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including members via email/phone.
Preparing documents including meeting agendas, minutes, and correspondence.
Assisting with the organisation of events, meetings, and conferences.
Maintaining the Union position holder database.
Undertaking nomination validations and processing.
Assist in all aspects of preparing for and undertaking Union position elections, including ballots.
Provide general administration support for the Government section as directed.
Working together as a team to facilitate section workload during busy periods.
Processing outbound mail.
About You
To be successful in this position you must have:
Previous administration experience.
A high level of written and verbal communication.
Strong organisational skills and the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities as directed.
Proficiency in programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Willing to work up to 4 Saturdays a year to support the QTU’s decision making bodies.
The ability to maintain confidentiality and have a strong attention to detail.
Team player with a positive attitude.
Understanding of and/or empathy towards trade unionism and public education including TAFE.
