Fatz Fabrication is a Design, manufacturing and product installation business based in Rockhampton QLD. We produce premium standard stainless-steel Snorkels, exhaust systems and various induction related products for the 4WD industry. We have been in operation since 2009 and are well established within the industry. We have a team-oriented culture and work as a team to move towards ongoing and immediate goals and commitments.

Fatz fabrication is looking for an additional team member for an immediate start to come on board in a Design and Drafting role. Attention to detail and attitude towards continual improvement of process and efficiency is vital.

Position Summary

Fatz fabrication is in need for a draftsman to join our team to assist in design of new products as well as updates and improvements to existing products and workshop drawings. In the design process the Fatz team work from 3D scans as well as existing designs to produce high accuracy components inline with our product offering. Use of 3D scanning equipment and processing of such files will be a crucial element of the role.

This roll falls under the supervision of our lead Draftsman and is a supplement to our current design process and capacity. Applications from students and individuals with limited experience will be considered.

The applicant must be proficient or able to promptly learn to perform the following tasks:

- Proficient in use and application of AutoCAD, solidworks, Geomagic and Blender software.

- Produce 3d modelling in solidworks from existing CAD drawings.

- Produce thorough workshop drawings from sketches.

- Make alterations to current drawings, to aid and improve manufacturing efficiencies.

- Produce drawings to high accuracy, with consideration of tooling limitations.

- Have, or be able to develop abilities around drawing complete parts based of singular or multiple 3D scan files.

- Create designs with automotive application, and design considerations in mind.

- Work to improve and develop design processes already in place.

- Image and animation rendering capability, or capacity to develop this skill set is required.

Qualifications: (Preferred)

- Bachelor of Industrial Design/Design.

- Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting.

- 1+ years working with CAD and Solidworks.

Capability is more important to us than qualification.
