We are seeking an experienced RabbitMQ Technical Consultant to design, implement, and manage RabbitMQ messaging systems for a government project based in Melbourne VIC.

This role involves creating scalable and secure messaging solutions, optimising RabbitMQ performance, and supporting development teams to build reliable distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design RabbitMQ messaging solutions to support distributed system architectures.
• Define and implement messaging patterns, including pub-sub, request-reply, and work queues.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery configurations for RabbitMQ clusters.
• Configure RabbitMQ for optimal performance and scalability, including memory, storage, and network tuning.
• Set up secure messaging channels using SSL/TLS, authentication plugins, and access control policies.
• Maintain RabbitMQ clusters, ensuring uptime, monitoring health, and troubleshooting issues.
• Monitor RabbitMQ queues and broker performance using metrics and logs.
• Work closely with development teams to integrate RabbitMQ into applications and workflows.
• Conduct training and knowledge-sharing sessions for team members.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience with RabbitMQ design, configuration, and administration.
• Strong understanding of messaging patterns and distributed system design.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and monitoring.
• Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ clustering, federation, and shovels.
• Familiarity with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK for monitoring and logging.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Contract Rate: $800-$900 per Day (incl. super)
