About the role – Full Time Max Term Contract until 30 June 2026

The Tumbelin Farm Program Lead plays a key role in coordinating the day-to-day service delivery of the Tumbelin Farm youth residential Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) rehabilitation program.

Tumbelin Farm is a voluntary, trauma-informed, holistic, live-in AOD rehabilitation program which provides up to 6-months support for young people aged 16-24 years. ‘Tumbelin’ is a Ngarrindjeri word which means ‘awaken and live’ – a word which perfectly captures the nature of the journey that a Tumbelin Farm participant undertakes.

The Tumbelin Farm program is based upon a restorative practice approach and provides a unique opportunity for young people to step away from their situation and begin a journey of recovery in a safe and supportive community setting.

Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

Establish and sustain positive, healthy relationships with participants, colleagues and external stakeholders, including referral agencies and staff

Triage and manage enquiries, referral and assessment of participants and maintain a waitlist

Coordinate the effective day-to-day delivery of the Tumbelin Farm residential AOD rehabilitation program, in collaboration with the Tumbelin Manager

Provide line management oversight to House Parents to ensure they are included and consulted in matters that relate to their role; provide collaborative leadership to other program staff

Lead restorative conversations with and between participants to raise issues and resolve tensions and conflict.

Administrative tasks including intake documentation, risk assessments, case notes, and system updates.

About you:

You’re a collaborative leader with a strong understanding of trauma, addiction, and recovery. Calm, organised, and highly relational, you build trust easily with young people and their support networks. You’re passionate about helping others grow, thrive in a team environment, and bring a practical, hands-on approach to creating a safe and supportive community.

You will also have the following skills and experience:

Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling or Psychology

Experience leading teams effectively

Experience delivering effective therapeutic programs with clients recovering from substance dependency

A deep understanding of complex client needs and behaviours, including the comorbid nature of AOD addiction, mental health, and trauma

Highly relational and non-judgemental, with an ability to relate effectively with young people and their families/circle of support

Specific Requirements:

Baptist Care SA is committed to the safety and protection of all children and vulnerable people and as such applicants will be considered in accordance with our safety practices and suitability.

You will be required to have, or be willing to obtain:

A current and valid DHS: Child-Related Employment Screening/WWCC

National Police Clearance as per the Background Screening Check Policy

Training – Safe Environments for Children and Young People

A valid NDIS Worker Screening Check

Training – Apply First Aid (min HLTAID012)
