About the role:
- Develop, install, and maintain electronic Monitoring and Control Systems for critical Water and Sewer Assets.
- Support the operation and performance of SCADA systems, ensuring reliable infrastructure at minimal risk and cost.
- Monitor system performance and contribute to maintenance programs and short-to-medium term capital planning.
- Provide technical support to Mechanical and Electrical teams and assist other business areas as required.
- Work collaboratively within the Water Unit, demonstrating flexibility, attention to detail, and a strong client service focus.

We are seeking:
- A qualified professional with a NSW Electrical or Contractor’s Licence and a minimum of two years' relevant experience.
- Strong technical expertise, including Certificate IV in Instrumentation (or equivalent experience), and demonstrated competence in installing, maintaining, and calibrating instrumentation.
- Proven experience with PLC programming (Ladder Logic / Function Block), SCADA systems, and Radio Telemetry Systems.
- In-depth knowledge of water supply, sewage treatment processes, and the ability to design, implement, and manage control systems and complex plant circuitry.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and collaborate on process improvements.

This position is based in Chinderah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
