New England Support Services is urgently seeking SIL Disability Support Workers to join our friendly team in Armidale. This is an immediate start opportunity for the right candidates.

About the Role:

We are looking for reliable and compassionate support workers to assist with Supported Independent Living (SIL) arrangements. These roles involve working in clients' homes to promote independence, safety, and quality of life.

You’ll be part of a small team working across a rotating roster that may include day shifts, weekend shifts, and sleepovers. Flexibility, teamwork, and reliability are essential.

Experience supporting people with complex needs or behaviours of concern is highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:

Personal care and hygiene assistance

Domestic duties (cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc.)

Medication assistance and manual handling (if trained)

Supporting routines, appointments, and therapy access

Promoting life skills and independence at home

Building rapport and supporting emotional wellbeing

Assisting with community engagement (if part of care plan)

Accurate shift documentation and communication

What We're Looking For:

A genuine passion for supporting people with disability

Willingness to work a rotating 7-day roster, including sleepovers and weekends

Experience in SIL or high needs care (preferred)

Confidence in supporting behaviours of concern (training can be provided)

Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset

Essential Requirements:

NDIS Worker Screening Check

Working With Children Check (WWCC)

National Police Check (with vulnerable people clearance)

Current First Aid Certificate

Australian Driver’s License and reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle

Must be available for immediate start

Highly Regarded:

Cert IV in Disability or equivalent

Experience in SIL or complex care

Manual Handling and Medication Administration certificates
