We are seeking a calm mechanically, (motor bikes), minded, and understanding Support Worker to work alongside our thoughtful male Client in his 40s.
This amazing individual is on a journey of personal growth and is looking for someone who can walk beside him as he builds emotional regulation skills, strengthens his ability to form positive relationships, and explores greater independence in his daily life.
Our Client is very passionate about motorbikes and is currently working towards getting his motorbike licence. He would love to work with someone who shares this interest and understands the freedom and joy that comes with riding.
A shared appreciation for nature, minimalist living, and possibly working with animals (especially horses) would also be a great fit. The ideal Support Worker will be patient and gentle as you move towards supporting this Client to seek more stable housing options.
Our Client is also a highly creative person with a talent for stained glass work, though he is currently taking a break from this hobby. He dreams of one day living on a boat and travelling the “blue highway,” embracing a peaceful, nature-connected lifestyle.

Available shift times are: 6.5hrs per week at this stage. There are no chosen days at this point, however they will be weekday shifts and split over 2 days as a general outline.

QSSS hourly rates are Weekday $34.45, Evening $37.00, Night $38.00, Saturday $47.00, Sunday $60.50, Public Holidays $73.80 - (sorry, rate not negotiable).
We also support our staff through our EAP service which offers 4 x free counselling sessions where required, as well as discounted physiotherapy sessions at select physio practices while also having the assurance of consistency of Clients you support. You have a comprehensive suite of online learning to support you and face to face learnings.
Requirements:
Mandatory: Be a decent, caring and supportive human who understands that a Client is the decision maker and the expert in their support needs … and you are the expert in making it happen
Experience with dementia is a must and ideally understanding the unique challenges it presents, including managing hallucinations and terrors
Resonate with the role description above
Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care
Willingness to cover shifts during staff leave
And of course work and within the clearly defined NDIS Guidelines, QSSS Protocols, Expectations and Values
Have awesome multitasking, prioritising skills with a proactive and problem solving mindset
You will have support in your role via a comprehensive care plan and ongoing training and support from our awesome Support Specialist team.

To deliver high quality support to our Clients in the capacity they require, the exact way they would like it delivered
Communicate effectively and collaborate for our Clients needs with our Clients, team & Support Specialist
Understand, follow instructions, and be responsive to our Clients needs
Provide support to our Clients as required
To support our Clients to achieve their NDIS Goals
Have good rapport building skills and a gentle, encouraging manner
Have an interest in building a respectful relationship with our Clients
Be reliable, flexible and responsive to fill shifts when required
