EXPERIENCED DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER IN VICTORIA POINT
QSSS Pty Ltd
Posted 14 days ago
Are you a female Support Worker who loves a bit of banter and enjoys working with an old-fashioned, okker Aussie bloke? If this sounds like you, keep reading to see if this opportunity is the perfect fit for you!
We are on the lookout for experienced Disability Support Workers who just so happen to possess Bowel Therapy and catheter experience (or have a willingness to learn) to join QSSS as part of our Client’s Support Worker team for a Client in Victoria Point.
This 74 year old gentleman is an outgoing person who is up before the birds who requires personal care supports at 5am so he can make his way to his favourite café for a bite of breakfast and a bit of socialising. He’s an outgoing person who values a good sense of humour and patience and just some good natured Aussie banter.
This Client self-identifies as a “part quad” who requires personal care, bowel and bladder support, and assistance with hoisting. Due to an acquired brain injury, he may occasionally have mood fluctuations but a bit of humour and patience can usually help to bring him back to his usual okker self.
If you have a good sense of humour, patience and the ability to read the room then you will do well to change the mood quickly and fast gain a new fan in this Client. The winning traits for you to have however are being trustworthy, reliable and open to a bit of banter.
This opportunity would suit an experienced and skilled Support Worker who is skilled in bowel therapy, catheter care, as well as hoisting experience – but most importantly, just being a decent, resilient and down to earth person.
Shifts are available 7 days a week as follows: 5:00am - 7:00am and 7:00pm-9:00pm. Every second day: 10:00am-13:30pm.
The hourly base rate is $ 34.45 /hr plus penalties for Evening, Night, Weekend and Public Holiday Shifts (sorry, rate not negotiable).
If this is you, please put in your application!
