The Australian Association of Family Therapy (AAFT) is seeking a communication-savvy, organised, and detail-oriented Administration Assistant to join the team. This is a great opportunity to join an organisation committed to advancing emotional/psychological wellbeing in individuals and families.

AAFT is a not-for-profit member-based organisation promoting family and systemic therapy across Australia. Our members comprise of professionals working in, or interested in, family and systemic therapy - including social workers, counsellors, psychologists, and other mental health professionals.

About the Role
As we enter an exciting period of growth, we’re seeking an efficient and tech-literate professional who enjoys variety and values collaboration.
This is a remote work-from-home position (WA-based). You'll work 15 hours per week, including Mondays (non-negotiable), but with flexibility across the other days. A company laptop and phone will be provided for you. You'll work closely with our President and Executive Assistant, and liaise with committee members who generously volunteer their time to support AAFT’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Email and Phone Communications: Monitor the inbox, respond to a variety of queries, and forward messages as needed. You’ll answer occasional phone calls.
Membership: Maintain records, process new applications, handle member enquiries, and liaise with the Membership Committee.
Committee Support: Provide admin assistance to various committees.
Meetings: Schedule and manage Zoom, and take accurate minutes.
Other:
Liaise with bookkeeper.
Support event coordination.
Upload social media content.
Assist with creative and design tasks as needed.
Note: Some out-of-hours availability is required. Some Monday meetings may run until 6:30 PM, and there is a Wednesday or Thursday evening meeting (monthly or every second month) until 6:30 PM.
About You
Essential:
Proven experience in an administrative role.
Proficient in Outlook, OneDrive, Word, and Excel.
Rigorous attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills with great spelling and grammar.
Friendly with a willingness to help others.
Time management and task prioritisation skills.
Able to work independently.
An interest in psychology/social work/counselling.
Desirable:
Experience with database management systems.
Familiarity with LinkedIn.
Familiarity with Zoom, PDFs, WordPress, Canva.
