Aboriginal Family Support Services is a lead, Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation that has been providing services to Aboriginal families and communities across South Australia for over 40 years.
Your new role
The Carer Liaison Officers provide a range of carer support services to Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal carer families households who provide care for Aboriginal children and young people.
We are looking for someone who:
- Will conduct face-to-face home visits with each carer household.
- Will organize and maintain compliance documents for the carers.
- Coordinate AFSS carers regular attendance at DCP carer forums.
- Has a strong commitment to social justice.
- Is energetic and engaging.
- Can persevere in the face of adversity.
To be successful you will need
- Valid South Australian Driver’s Licence
- Working With Children Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance
- Safe Environments for Children and You People Certificate
- Provide First Aid Certificate
- National Police Check

Ideally you will also have
Social science discipline such as Social Work, Behavioural Sciences, Community Services, Youth Services, and related fields are desirable but not essential.
