WF Industries is seeking a full-time Designer/Draftsman to join our team primarily in Central and Western NSW . You will be responsible for the creation and implementation of our internal design and drafting capabilities. Producing high-quality technical drawings and documentation to support the design, CNC processing, manufacturing and installation of steel work across a range of industries.

What you'll be doing

Leading the set up and continuous improvement of our design and documentation processes, building our library of drawings and resources.

Supporting our progression into CNC laser processing equipment, with designs and nesting.

Generate 2D and 3D CAD Designs, drawings, models and schematics using AutoCAD, SolidWorks and other design software

Collaborate with engineers and technical specialists to understand project requirements and translate them into detailed design plans.

Collaborate with our estimating and sales team to assist in providing accurate estimates quotes and tenders

Meet agreed KPI's in producing accurate timely drawings and material maximisation on a monthly basis.

Produce documentation such as bills of materials, assembly instructions and technical specifications to support our manufacturing and material processing staff.

Liaise with internal production teams and external suppliers to ensure drawings and designs are accurate and meet all necessary standards and requirements

Liaise with suppliers and production teams to ensure seamless project execution.

What we're looking for

+3 years of experience as a CAD Designer/Drafter, preferably in a steel manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in using AutoCAD and other 2D/3D CAD software

Experience in initial system and process setup

Strong technical drawing and documentation skills

Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines

Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Effective communication and collaboration abilities

Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Design, Drafting, Engineering related discipline or a trade background is advantageous

Familiarity with relevant Australian standards and drawing conventions.

Ability to travel and stay overnight/s when required.
