Employment Term: Part-time (60.8 hours per fortnight) maximum term until January 2026

Remuneration: $97k (pro-rata) + 11.5 % Super + NFP Salary Packaging

Your part in our UnitingCare team
We are seeking a dynamic, skilled, knowledgeable passionate and experienced Children’s Counsellor to work in our Supporting Children After Separation Program (SCASP) Team in Bundaberg. SCASP offers individual therapeutic counselling and group work, to children and young people, aged 5-18.
Duties of this role include;
Undertake assessments and counselling to assist children and young people cope with trauma and challenges relating to parental separation.
Prepare written reports relating to; clients matters (eg case notes, referrals, case review) and statistical and administrative reports.
Support children, young people and their families using a child-centred, and strength-based framework with a Trauma informed Practice.
Provide group work to children & children’s counselling to assist clients achieve their goals.
Provide suitable referrals if required.
What makes a difference for us?
Blue Card
Current Driver's License
Undergraduate (four-year) degree in Social Work or Psychology and eligibility for membership to AASW; APS; or Australian Counselling Association
Demonstrated experience in providing children’s counselling and related services, with an emphasis on family and individual functioning, parent and child education while focussing on the effects of family separation on children and young persons
Demonstrated knowledge of child and youth development, particularly in relation to the effects of parental separation, high conflict separation, family violence and grief and loss and the effects of such upon child mental health and well-being
The ability to acquire knowledge of the Family Law Act 2006, particularly in relation to family separation and the best interests of the child
Eligible to legally work in Australia and proof of eligibility may be requested
