Fantastic opportunity for a Civil Engineering Graduate/Traffic and Transport Engineer to join our team.

What you'll do:

You'll:

  • Support Local Traffic and Parking Management: Assist in the investigation, design and delivery of local traffic treatments, parking controls, and signage improvements in line with Council policies, Austroads guidelines and relevant road safety standards.
  • Contribute to Road Safety and Network Improvements: Undertake site assessments, traffic counts and basic data analysis to support the development of initiatives that improve safety, access and functionality for all road users.
  • Engage with the Community and Stakeholders: Respond to customer enquiries, assist in preparing reports and correspondence, and support consultation activities to ensure community needs and expectations are considered in traffic and transport outcomes.

The standard working hours are 8.30am - 5.00pm. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed.

What you'll bring/what we are looking for:

If you enjoy engaging with people and solving problems, this position lets you strengthen both your interpersonal and technical skills through real-world investigations, stakeholder engagement, and community-focused outcomes. You'll have:

  • A Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent Civil engineering qualification recognised by Engineers Australia. Students completing a civil engineering degree and graduating in 6 months are eligible to apply subject to them attaining their degree during the probationary period.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of the Victorian road and parking rules.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Strong understanding of using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Ability to be adaptable, organised and have a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in a customer service role is beneficial.
  • Interest in contributing to community focused projects.

  • A permanent full-time position, with a monthly RDO.
  • Salary $77,785.93 - $90,083.32 per annum plus super
