Multiple fulltime fixed term roles available, with end dates ranging from end of December 2025 & end of July 2026.

Are you a registered Psychologist or Social Worker who has a passion for supporting students in an education environment? We have multiple Triage and Assessment Advisor opportunities available which have recently become available, so we want to hear from you.

Working under broad direction and exercising autonomy, the Triage and Assessment Advisor will be the first point of contact for students, or staff supporting students, who are at risk, in crisis or distress. In addition, the Triage and Assessment Advisor has a key role in prioritising student contact within Counselling Support.

The Division of Academic and Student Engagement (DASE) partners with students, staff and the broader community to deliver an outstanding student experience. At the heart of the student experience are transformational opportunities in learning and teaching.

The Student Experience branch is responsible for providing services that deliver an excellent student experience. This includes administrative and support services to students as well as service to, and partnership with, academic staff in the development of a high-quality, engaging and relevant learning environment.

To be successful you will need:

  • Extensive demonstrated experience working in the Mental Health sector supporting individuals with mental health conditions.
  • Experience in providing intake and assessment, including triage using appropriate risk assessment tools.
  • Demonstrated crisis intervention skills and knowledge.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills including the ability to demonstrate empathy and concern for others, effectively communicating with distressed people and those from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to both take direction and work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong and demonstrated skill in prioritizing work in a pressured environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive relevant experience.
  • Eligibility to register with the Psychology Board of Australia through AHPRA, and/or the Australian Association of Social Work.

This position requires a valid Working with Children Check.
