Project Officer Mobility

You. At the centre of big ideas.

  • Passionate about driving whole-of-government mobility impact across NSW state government?
  • We're seeking established experience in recruitment, stakeholder management, process excellence and delivering results
  • Temporary Clerk Grade 7/8 role until June 2027 (with potential to be extended or converted to ongoing), based in Martin Place, Sydney CBD

About the Team

The Workforce Mobility Placement (WMP) Program is an NSW Government initiative led by the Premier's Department. We focus on retaining talented public sector employees by matching individuals impacted by organisational change with available roles across government - before those roles are advertised externally. Our work keeps essential skills and experience within the sector and supports smoother career transitions. By facilitating placements without formal assessments or interviews, we help employees remain engaged and contributing to the work of government.

About the Role

As the Project Officer, Mobility, you'll play a key role in delivering workforce mobility projects across the NSW public sector. You'll support employees affected by change, ensuring they are matched with new opportunities that align with their capabilities and aspirations.

This role offers a unique opportunity to coordinate workforce transition projects that make a real difference in people's careers. You'll contribute to process improvements and policy development that shape government-wide approaches to workforce mobility. Engaging with stakeholders will be central to your work, helping to deliver practical and impactful outcomes. You'll also conduct research and analysis to support evidence-based decision-making and inform strategic planning.

To learn more about the role please review the Role Description.

We're Looking For

  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects, including the development and implementation of project plans, coordination of resources, and timely delivery of outcomes.
  • Recruitment Knowledge: established experience in the full recruitment process within large or complex organisations, with an understanding of talent mobility. IT recruitment experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Analytical Thinking and Research: Strong analytical skills to source, collate and interpret data, identify workforce trends, and develop reports and briefs that support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, facilitate consultations, and lead working groups to support workforce transition objectives.
  • Adaptability and Collaboration: Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, work collaboratively across teams, and maintain high-quality outputs under pressure.

We value diverse experiences. Even if you're not sure you meet all requirements, we encourage you to apply.
