- Remuneration: $100K - $107K (Level 6) or $110K-$119K (Level 7) depending on experience and role responsibilities + 17% Superannuation

Why Your Role Matters:
The Case Manager plays a key role in managing complaints and allegations of misconduct across Conduct and Integrity functions according to the University’s policies and procedures. This role is notionally assigned to the Research Integrity stream but may assist the wider Conduct and Integrity functions as needed.
This is a parental leave cover until July 2026. This role has no direct report.
Responsibilities:
This role is what is referred as “broadbanded” – which means it sits across two different levels depending on the ownership and complexity of the tasks and the person’s experience.
At a Level 6
- Analyse and respond tactfully and sensitively to issues and queries
- Apply codes of conduct, policies and procedures in managing complaints and allegations
- Use a range of systems and processes to document and manage cases, and to ensure the University meets its compliance and reporting obligations
- Promote a UNSW culture of ethical decision making by staff and students
- Support the Senior Case Managers and Manager to prepare documents and reports
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders
At a level 7
In addition to the above, you will have to:
- Manage the investigation process: collecting and interpreting evidence, interviewing, drafting correspondence, advising stakeholders, recommending outcomes, preparing reports, providing secretariat support for relevant committees, conducting inquiries, and maintaining up-to-date records and files
- Provide advice to Faculty, School and Division staff and assist in review and development of policies and procedures.

Who You Are:
You could be an experienced complaint handler, paralegal, someone who is passionate about contributing to a culture of responsible conduct of research and would like to apply your skills and experience in a new way. You have the following skills and experience:
For a level 6
- Proven experience in case and complaint management
- A strong professional communicator and analytical thinker with ability to accurately identify and articulate issues verbally and in writing
- Possess high emotional intelligence and stakeholder management abilities
- Resilient with sound judgement, and the ability to keep matters confidential
- Possess excellent organisation and time management skills
- Experience in a legal or compliance environment is beneficial
For a level 7
In addition to the above points, you will need substantial experience working on complex case and complaint management and working on investigations.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, business hours. The team works on a hybrid basis (3 days home/2 days in the office at Sydney UNSW Campus)
