What you will do
The Business Analyst, VCEA Finance; operates within the Finance team in the Finance and Funding portfolio.
The Business Analyst, VCEA Finance will contribute to financial analysis, reporting and business improvement activities. This will be done through the collection, interpretation and analysis of financial information.
What you’ll bring
A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to synthesise data and conceptualise solutions to maximise opportunities in a complex, sensitive environment with competing forces.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, allowing you to seamlessly translate complex financial data using business intelligence and data visualisation tools.
Experience managing finance databases, ensuring data integrity, and supporting internal reporting, forecasting, and decision-making processes.
Well-developed interpersonal skills, with experience engaging and collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
Confidence in preparing and presenting high-quality reports, trends, and commentary to leadership teams and governance bodies.
The flexibility to contribute to special projects and business improvement initiatives while effectively managing regular and ad hoc reporting needs.
An independent and proactive work style, complemented by a strong team focus and excellent attention to detail.
Outstanding communication skills, with the capacity to present complex information clearly and concisely.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 2 years demonstratable experience in a financial / accounting environment.
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) and experience using business intelligence and data visualisation software such as Tableau, PowerBI and Quikview.
Demonstrable experience managing large financial data sets, with high attention to detail and commitment to data quality and integrity.
Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business or Accounting are essential.
