Our Health Strategy and Performance team is made up of highly skilled professionals including epidemiologists, statisticians, data and evaluation specialists – all working to provide expert advice for implementing health strategies, data-driven evidence for decision making and evaluation of programs.
We have a rare opportunity for a Health Data Analyst to join our Health Strategy and Performance team. This unique role sits at the intersection of data, strategy and impact – where your analytical skills drive real-world change in an innovative and purpose-driven environment.

What you would be doing
Under the direction of your manager but with a significant degree of autonomy you will:
Analyse Health Datasets: Analyse datasets (including General Practice, Admitted Patient Care, Emergency Department) to uncover trends and inform healthcare interventions
Develop Code and Scripts: Integrate structured data from multiple sources, enhance the interpretation of health data to support evidence-based decision-making, service planning and evaluation
Advice and Collaboration: Work collaboratively across teams and sectors to achieve a shared evidence base and provide proactive, expert health data advice relating to health service utilisation and outcomes.
Here's what you’ll look like
You may have qualifications in statistics, data analysis, data science or a related field.
These skills will be key to your success:
Statistical Programming: Proficiency in statistical programming and tools (T-SQL, R, R Studio) and the ability to develop and apply code and scripts
Data Engineering: Strong capability in ETL Process Design, data modelling and statistical reporting to integrate and structure complex health data from multiple sources to support accurate and meaningful analysis
Health Data Analysis: Experience with ICD and DRG-coded health administrative datasets to accurately analyse patient outcomes, service utilisation and system performance to inform evidence-based healthcare planning
Communication and Collaboration: Able to produce accurate and meaningful documentation, negotiate solutions across diverse perspectives and technical backgrounds, and contribute as a collaborative team member to achieve amazing results
