The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Operations Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will lead the interrogation, manipulation, and transformation of operations data into meaningful insights, reports, and strategic recommendations that drive informed decision-making across the business.
Owning the end-to-end data lifecycle—from architecture and ingestion through to visualisation and automation. You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, identifying opportunities to optimise operations and enhance performance through data-driven solutions.

Perform a range of data manipulation activities including data analysis, data mapping, data modelling, and data cleansing

Implement and enforce best practices for data integrity, consistency, and compliance with data governance standards.

Collaborate with business leaders, operations teams, and IT to understand data needs, prioritize initiatives, and deliver high-impact analytical support.

Develop and implement visualisation and reporting solutions for operational teams

What we're looking for

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Operations Data Analyst to turn complex operations data into clear insights and actionable recommendations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in data architecture, reporting, automation, and analytics, with a passion for driving efficiency and informed decision-making across the business.

Formal tertiary qualifications in Information Systems, Data Science, Spatial Science or ICT discipline or equivalent competence

Skills and work experience in programming languages such as R, Python, Powershell & SQL

Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.

Detail-oriented, curious, and results-driven with a strong analytical mindset.

The Details

This role can be based in either Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport and attracts a salary of $104,985 - $110,817 (inclusive of superannuation).
